FAQs

Do you offer free consultation?

Yes β€” I offer a free ~20-minute consultation via phone to discuss your treatment needs and to determine whether it’s a good fit. This is also a good opportunity to ask any questions you have about therapy and to get a sense of what it would feel like to work together.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently out-of-network with all insurance plans with the exception of Aetna, and I offer a limited number of insurance spots. Out-of-network benefits are often provided by health insurance companies to help you pay for treatment that is not in-network. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can submit claims to your insurance for reimbursement, or I can provide you with invoices for you to submit directly. Typically, out-of-network benefits cover between 50-85% of the cost of therapy after reaching any deductible in your plan.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions that are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance will be charged in full. I will make every effort to try to reschedule you within the same week or see you twice the following week to avoid being charged without receiving services, but cannot guarantee.

How does teletherapy work?

Prior to each session, you will receive a HIPAA compliant video link through a secure platform inviting you to join a virtual room. Reminders will be sent 48 hours before and 15 minutes before your appointment begins. Please ensure your own privacy in a space where you will not be overheard or interrupted.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

All sessions are currently virtual with the plan of having a hybrid model combining both in person and virtual services in the near future.

How frequent are sessions? How long is each session?

Treatment can be short-term or long-term, depending on your individual treatment needs. It is generally recommended to begin treatment on a weekly basis, with most patients choosing to continue weekly treatment. However, there are circumstances and treatment needs that change over time where biweekly frequency or twice-a-week can be considered. Individual sessions are 45 minutes; couples and family sessions are 60 minutes; group sessions are 90 minutes.
