Therapeutic approach
My style
In therapy, I believe the therapeutic relationship itself to be a mechanism of change. A good fit is essential. The therapeutic relationship is ever-evolving, and allows you to discover new ways of being in a close relationship through long-standing feelings that are reawakened in therapy. My main goal as your therapist is to work collaboratively to remove obstacles to growth and to promote deep, enduring change. By building trust collaboratively, therapy will focus on increasing awareness, tolerance, and acceptance of difficult emotions. In doing so, therapy can achieve the greater aim of promoting the true self. My approach is curious, authentic, and non-judgmental. I believe humor, spontaneity, and empathy are crucial elements in facilitating corrective emotional experiences.
